I covered approximately 2400 kilometers in 3 days.

I reached central railway station (Chennai) at 9:30 PM with no clue where am I going to, checked for the train timings that go a long way and I had two options, one to Bombay and another one to Calcutta. I decided to go east which I don’t know anything about east India, bought a ticket (open ticket) to Calcutta.

It was shocking to see the crowd in the train and its unimaginable. Thought of dropping this trip but thought to myself that it’s important in life not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong, to measure yourself at least once. Somehow manage to get into the train and was standing 2 feet away from the door. It was too crowded that I was not even able to stand.

Standing for 7 hours, my legs hurt so badly decided to get down in the next stop. It was Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.From there I went to many places by all means of transportation bus, local trains, boat, cycle rickshaw and share autos.

I crossed Andhra Pradesh border to Chhattisgarh by walk (approx. 15 Kms). The way I walked was like a forest, I feel ultimate freedom, an extremist, an aesthetic voyager. My home is the road. No longer to be poisoned by civilization, I flee and walk alone upon the land to become lost in the wild. I feel like I don’t need money, which makes people cautious.

By various modes of transportation I reached Nagpur, Maharashtra and I was totally drained decided to go back.

The purpose of this trip is to absorb people of various states with various cultures and to experiment what it would be to travel alone with no clue and no friends.

I can say:

Happiness, only real when shared.

One of my favorite spot

Whenever I felt bored when I am at home, I like to go to a place where I could relax myself and feel better. It's a place 30 KMs. from my house. I usually stay there for an hour or so listening to music and have a smoke. I enjoy this place!

I found this place when I was doing my school, my friends and I used to roam here and there in the bike and this place has become one of our favorite spot for us. This is the place where my friends used to smoke (I was non-smoker at this period of time) and I was the one who advise them not to smoke and I brief them about the effects of smoking. (Such a good boy I was :))

For two years from my school days I didn’t go to this place. When I was doing my college second year I started smoking. When I come home for holidays I was thinking of the place to go for a fag. This place strikes my mind and I started going there quite often. The first time I went there for a smoke after two years I just recollected those advice I gave for my friends who smoke. I find myself silly and was laughing for quite some time.

Still I go to this place whenever I go to my hometown. Interesting fact about this place is, as far as your eye could see it will be green and no one will be around except some cows and goats here and there. This place is very calm and I love this place a lot.

I am alone but not Lonely...

I never really had a lot of friends after I complete college. It took me awhile to get use to meeting new people, but I eventually did. I have like two or three friends that I still talk to even after graduating college, but I find myself not really talking to anybody or trying to strike conversations. I guess you could say that I'm shy, or maybe I just don't feel like talking to people. Well anyways I was thinking the other day that I really don't have any close friends and it doesn't bother me at all. My best friend lives somewhere else and my other friends, well they work, and it just doesn't seem to bother me. Basically I'm alone, but I'm not really alone.

My life consists of waking up, going to office, coming home and do some work in the internet for my websites. Although I don't have that many friends, I don’t say that I am very happy but definitely not lonely at all.

Sometimes I feel, I exactly match the character of Robert De Niro from the movie Taxi Driver (Doesn’t mean I am mentally unstable :))

"Taxi Driver" is about loneliness and isolation of a man in a society full of scum. His objective is to finish with the scum of the streets and his loneliness is characterized by an almost crushing boredom and emptiness and Robert De Niro's character reflects that. His life is dull and boring, hardly anything happens to him and that is what "Taxi Driver" shows - Robert De Niro's pathetic life.

Crazy thinking – My travel plan

I was watching some videos in YouTube from the channel travel and living. I feel inspired by this quote:

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

My idea is to go somewhere more than 3000 kilometers in four days (head towards north) to explore some of the places that I have known only in books.

My plan is to have no plan - just go by the way it takes. I have no clues and I am not going to think of this further. I just start from my place to the Central railway station somewhere in-between 9PM -11PM. I look for the train that start in the near time and goes a long way (anywhere it can be towards north).

I will write all of my experiences in this trip – places I go, food I eat, place I stay, people I meet, etc…

Hope this will be a fascinating. I execute this plan in the next month (July 2010).
